Common questions
What horse health records should I keep?
At minimum: vaccination records with dates and batch details (Hendra, tetanus, strangles), dental and worming history, health or veterinary certificates, and insurance documents. Horsify keeps all of these per horse in a free rider account, with expiry alerts 30 days out.
What is a horse health declaration and when do I need one?
A health declaration is a signed statement - usually completed on the day of an event - that your horse shows no signs of infectious disease such as strangles, has a normal temperature, and hasn't recently been on a property with an outbreak. When an event on Horsify requires one, you're emailed a link the morning of the event and can complete it from your phone; the organiser sees it immediately.
Do I need to type in my paper certificates by hand?
No. Photograph the certificate and Horsify reads it automatically, extracting the details into the record while keeping the original image attached as evidence. You review and confirm before anything is saved.
Can Horsify prove my horse's Hendra vaccination status?
Yes. Each Hendra dose is recorded with its date and the booster cycle is tracked, so you can show current status at events and to veterinary practices - many in Queensland and northern NSW require it. Vets using Health4Horses can have vaccinations imported automatically.
Will I be warned before something expires?
Yes. The Expiring Items view shows everything across all your horses that expires in the next 30 days - vaccination boosters, health certificates and insurance - and vaccination boosters also flow into your care reminders by text or in-app notification.
